More on Our August Vacation

Oneida Lake was a great location for visiting spots in and around Syracuse.

One morning we headed to the Zoo.

We saw penguins,

bison,

wolf,

elephants,

birds,

and huge bugs!

Dan made friends with a tiger.

Another day we went to the Erie Canal Museum in downtown Syracuse.

It's housed in the former weighing building.  The granddaughters had fun exploring a canal boat.

And another day we headed to Green Lakes State Park and took a hike down to one of the lakes formed by glaciers.

A lovely vacation!

I am no architect, but that Canal Museum looks like a fine specimen.

The zoo is always a favourite with the children. Looks like a great holiday place with lots of family things to do.

Fun adventures!
Interesting that your church group helped some South Carolinians with home repairs last year. We had some church youth groups doing repairs here in Georgetown this summer. I admire their willingness to work in all this heat! There is a lot of need and poverty in the area.
