Next Stop : Cologne, Germany

We arrived in Cologne mid day.  An overcast day as can be seen by these skies.


The cathedral dominates the cityscape.

We could watch the docking from the front of the ship.


Then looking out our window from our cabin this was the view with the cathedral spires visible.


And here is our ship captured from across the Rhine on the walking tour I took.


Much of the skyline of Cologne is post WWII.  Cologne was heavily bombed.  These photos were posted of what the city looked like.



The cathedral though damaged was not destroyed because most of the windows were removed and stored below ground.


Everything that looks old was rebuilt to look that way as I learned when I questioned the dates on these buildings.
