End of a Season

Saturday was a beautiful day, perfect for closing down the gardens.  It's hard to believe that another season of growing has come to an end.  As I move the garden art to the garden shed I wonder what will be life like when I next bring these back out to the garden.

I didn't bring out the camera until the chores were done.

Here's the Perennial Garden devoid of the statues and with plants cut back except for the herbs in the right foreground.

I'm trying something new with my pots.  Rather than bring them all to the vestibule I'm going to try to have them weather the winter against the warmth of the south facing wall of the bedrooms.

The deck is cleared and

the porch furniture stacked up.

The raised beds in the vegetable garden have been seeded with an oat and field peas mix as a cover crop.  The parsley is still quite green.

Unrelated: do you see a smudge or light in the upper right corner of all these photos?  Is in on the lens?  I need to check that out.
