National Cathedral

Some inside photos of the National Cathedral in Washington, DC.

A friend and I visited there on Wednesday of this past week to attend a tour and tea.  We arrived early and enjoyed exploring inside after we had a light midmorning snack.  It was a rainy day so no photos from outside.

In 2011 the Cathedral sustained considerable damage outside from an earthquake we had here.  Millions of dollars of repairs are needed.  We could see the damage from the 7th floor observation level.

Joining Inspired Sunday.

Since this is a national treasure how appropriate to link to

I love the light inside buildings like this - I used to live near York Minster in the UK and would walk through the minster (as a short cut!) home from work!

A treasure indeed. so beautiful. Love the stained glass windows.

Regarding your comment about the school in Benge Wa. I imagine the students come from the surrounding ranches and there are some people in town. there are 9 students in grades from Kto 6---2 teachers.

It really is a National Treasure. We were there in May of 2011 so the earthquake must have been after that.
