I know I said I was taking a break until the New Year and will likely have few posts between now and then. But wanted to share where my head is now.
I stopped reading the Washington Post. I stopped the subscription but because I pay a year at a time that won't end until May.
I glance at the headlines on the New York Times but not as frequently as before. No more morning email with all the breaking stories for me to read and worry over.
I've limited my participation in causes to Moms Rising, Americans of Conscience and Faithful America so get their emails which are not frequent now.

We had a snowy Thanksgiving here. Daughter and family from Buffalo arrived Tuesday night so no snow issues for them. But niece and family from Boston suburbs drove through snow on Thanksgiving morning. The 6 cousins enjoyed the snow once dinner was ended.
And dinner was delicious. Everyone contributed multiple items. The locally grown turkey was exquisite! My fears of whether it would fit in the refrigerator to dry brine and then whether it would be done in time were for naught. In fact it was done 30 minutes earlier than expected which was fine. Everything was ready at 12:30 instead of 1:00.
I didn't manage to get a photo of roasted turkey. But my plate dished up is below.
Addendum: Despite Anonymous comment below there was gravy on the table. I hadn't poured it on before the photo was taken.

...I hope that your Buffalo area family is fine. Some areas got dumped on! Stay warm and well.
Nice dinner plate however the gravy is missing. The guy at the table looks annoyed and exasperated, must be the lack of gravy.
It all looks so cozy and happy! How nice that they could be there despite the weather.
Glad to see you posting again. We can't let The Orange One take away our voices.
That’s a lot of food!
What a lovely feast and gathering of loved ones! Looks delicious! I've also unsubscribed from lots of things this week...just didn't really read them any more, so why clutter my emails!
That all looks so wonderful. I love your maple leaf masks for the kids. It's more fun than my blurring. The turkey we made took a half hour longer than anticipated actually. I have a feeling the little button popped too late. You meal looks really delicious.
I don't like to listen to or read the news anymore. It just gets me upset. Arrghhh...
Beautiful dinner (and another dry briner! ha). Good times with friends/family/or just yourselves, it's all good. We too avoid most news. Sure I hear bits and pieces but it's going to be a long 4 years. We'll just get out to our little house in the country and live life to the fullest, that's all we can do, right? Will have to check out those groups you mentioned.
I’ve the family around the table photo.
First word should have been ‘Love’.
Glad everyone made it! Those snow reports were amazing. Linda in Kansas
