Blooms
In the kitchen window sill my violet has deigned to bloom for me again after a long hiatus.
I used to have a violet plant on my window sill in Chicago that I loved to look at. Gosh... I haven't seen a violet plant in a while. Hmmmm... maybe my daughter had one. My mom's English name was Violet. My grandfather liked the flower because its shape seemed to represent humility.
Your African Violet looks beautiful and comfortable in the soft sunlight on the sill. I haven’t had it for long. About your inquiry about deer population in Nara Park. No control is done. Their population is kept around 1100 every year naturally. Though they have lived close to humans for long, they are wild animals. Due to that unique habitat, they are designated as Natural Monument. At this time of year, the slightest bloom is so welcome.

I have one from my mother many years ago and it blooms most of the time.

Used to be the de facto houseplant, but I hardly see them any more.
My mother was called Violet although she hated the name. I haven't kept African violets for ages.
