Tuesday morning the first blooms of the day lilies opened.
I tried to take a selfie to show the flower stalks are taller than I am - so that's taller than 5'2".
I've never had day lilies that tall that I can recall.
The pansies are still blooming and the Hosta garden is filling out really well this year.
My stepping stones are being covered by creeping thyme. This is the second season for the thyme.
The spider wort blooms in the morning and is loving all the rain.
I have a set of volunteer sunflowers that I hope the ground hog doesn't take out.
I managed to get to weed and deadhead in a window when the sun was out on Tuesday morning. As I write this I'm still dripping from the humidity and the sky is darkening to bring more rain.

The garden is looking lush and green. Some of that rain would be welcome in forest fire country.
...spiderwort is a nice plant, check out the variety, Sweet Kate.
Those native daylilies cannot be stopped.
everything is so lush what with alll this rain !! (at least here in eastern NY we are having DAYS of high humidity and rain....i'm actually headed to Stowe Vermont for the rest of the week with hubby...we are PRAYING it gets sunny and cooler).
I loved the thyme creeping over the stepping stones. What a good idea.
Oh I also hope you get sunflowers from those volunteer plants. Tall daylilies indeed!
The weather you're having obviously suits the garden, it looks great.
Yes, it's true that day lilies can grow quite tall, but I don't recall how high the ones we had in our VA yard grew, I suspect they may have been close to the ones in your garden. The creeping thyme is aptly named, Marcia.
