Scotland: Autumn Colors

Our two weeks in Scotland from the end of September to early October gave us a sense of what autumn colors were like there.  The best place to see those were in the wooded retreat called The Hermitage outside Dunkeld and Birnam.

Come walk with us through these lovely woods.  Dan is in the lead up ahead.

The folly.

Look closely at the stump below.  Do you see what's been embedded there?

Did you enjoy the walk?

Yes. But I would have liked more information. :-)

What is embedded in the old tree stump?

What is that delightful door, in the next to last photo?????? Oh yes, what?

And what is the story, of the last photo? that sort of a totem pole? Which looks very much like what one would see in Alaska????

Wisps of words - in reply to your questions:

There are coins embedded in the tree stump. We didn't ad another one.

The little door was to a little cave like area.

I don't know anything more about the totem pole. There was no label.

Thanks for stopping by.
