Fabulous shot. I had a canoe safari a week ago while in Malawi and was very close to hippos , crocs and birds. Happy New Year. I am home now from my trip to Malawi but thanks for leaving me all the comments when I was away.

Best way to get water birds is from a kayak or canoe.
Great shots - one day I'll get myself a canoe. I like the fishing boat in the background of the geese.
