Independence Day Parade

A tradition in many communities in New England is a parade on the 4th that includes anyone that wants to join. On the 4th Dan headed north to Orford, NH because the community band he plays in was booked for their parade.  I opted to join family one town over for that parade.

Nice of the rain to stay away.  Fireworks in our town were delayed a day due to threat of thunderstorms which did hit us at 8 pm.

Which One Made You Laugh?

 

Book Recommendation

 Actually an author recommendation: Raynor Winn.

Her first book, a memoir, is The Salt Path.  It's followed by The Wild Silence and the newest one is Landlines. [Not published yet in US but someone local purchased it in UK earlier this year and donated it to our library.]

I've read them all and find them incredibly engrossing, touching, and prescient.

Start with The Salt Path to understand what led her and her husband to walk the South West Coast Path in England.
