Here's an interesting article in Mental Floss featuring 10 African American inventors.
Of the 10 only 2 were familiar to me: Charles Richard Drew (blood banks) and George Washington Carver (products from peanuts).

George Washington Carver and Madam C. J. Walker are two that I knew.
Though I often share historic black people's stories, I am with Tom in knowing only those 2 in these 10. It's good to know there were 100s more out there too!
