Remember that ditty?
I think too many people have been reciting it this year and now the rain just can't go away anymore. Not that it really worked all summer. For the year we are 7 inches above average.

...we were in the Adirondacks for four days and we had light rain for three days. It was needed.
It's been dull and rainy here but not like there, apparently.
Doesn’t seem to fall where it’s needed most. El Niño will probably bring more rain too.
Many parts of the UK are flooded at the moment especially in Scotland.
