River Crossings

When we drive home from New Hampshire on I - 91 we cross lots of rivers that empty into the Connecticut River.  The interstate follows the Connecticut River as it flows south and we end up crossing it in Massachusetts and then Connecticut.  Later we have to cross the Hudson River, too.

These photos were taken from the car on our drive home on Monday.

First the Cornish-Windsor Bridge - longest covered bridge in the US connecting Cornish, NH to Windsor, VT.

First sighting of the Connecticut River as we head home.

Here are several rivers we cross as we head south in Vermont.

Then we start crossing the Connecticut River.

This is the Tappan Zee Bridge over the Hudson River.

Work is going on to replace the current bridge with two 4 lane spans.  It's a year behind schedule.

All the construction made us want to stop and watch but there was no where to do that.

The Hudson is visible to the left as we head west.  We could see the skyline of New York City, too.

That's not a meteor in the photo above but a reflection!

For some reason I was no longer on your followers list. I wondered why I wasn't receiving your posts! Hopefully that has been resolved now. Love the views of the bridges. Saw so many different designs on my trip. And yes all the clothes in the window displays can be bought in the store.

I love seeing your travels. It reminds me of our travel driving, but I like it even better seeing photos from home.
