Bird Feeder? NOT!

I'll let these photos speak for themselves.

This feeder is not 10 feet outside my husband's study window.  Dan was practicing the guitar at the time and the deer was obviously listening but not frightened in the least.  When I stood at the window to take the photos it could see me but again it wasn't frightened away.  It was set on feeding on the sunflower seeds.  Dan said that on Wednesday as he worked at his computer the deer was there eating too.  It emptied the feeder then.

What fun! We miss watching deer, they haven't come up close in the yard since we've had our dog. (he's around 6 yrs.) We had to get a dog though, because we also had bears & skunks in the yard that were becoming quite a nuisance!
Years ago we could watch the deer all winter, some even dropped their antlers right in our backyard!

Yes, they sure do enjoy a filled bird feeder! We have had to protect our birdfeeders from all the deer here. We either put them up very high on a tall post or circle them with 6 foot high fencing - the birds get through fine but the deer don't.

We have the same in our area - deer eat all birdfood. Some local towns actually decided not to allow any feeders at all (overkill IMHO)

Hmmm. I guess the deer was too hungry to worry about a human playing a guitar.

Cute shots of the deer, some of the deer in the neighborhoods do not feel threatened.. Poor thing must be hungry! Have a happy week!

cool. It is fun to see how the deer raised up to reach the seed. Thanks for sharing. :)

The turkeys and the deer have an agreement here. The turkeys fly up on the deck and peck with vigor at my feeders. This knocks seeds onto the ground for the deer. Teamwork huh? I know that turkeys are birds, but not quite what I wanted at my feeders.

How delightful! We have deer visitors, too.
They have such brown eyes, don't they?!
