This is such a sobering and meticulously documented piece. I really appreciate how you laid out the archive, it feels like the kind of careful, evidence-based work we desperately need to remember what really happened, beyond the noise and rewriting of history. The detail about speaking to families on both sides really brought the human cost home.

Thank you for sharing this Marcia. I have been listening to the interviews of the police officers who were on duty that day, as I have often. I hope they keep telling their story. Their voices need to be heard.
