Retirement Living

There are lots of advantages to living in a retirement home one of which is the friends you make with a wide range of ages 60-100+.  One of the disadvantages then is the death of these friends.

We lost a dear friend last week.  Dunbar was 92.  He and his wife were some of the first friends we made here.  Dunbar gave my husband Dan an airplane model to fly from our 11th floor.  Dan assembled it and had Dunbar make the first flight.  We still have that plane.

Dunbar was a gentleman and he will be sorely missed.

Sending heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your special friend, Marcia. Having many friends nearby with shared memories of Dunbar will hopefully be a true comfort to his dear wife. Spending time with close friends every day can be such a healing thing. Marcia, your card is truly lovely! I'm certain that it will be treasured. Sending warm hugs...

It sounds like Dunbar was a really nice man and will be truly missed.

That is sad news Marcia and perhaps one downside of living in a retired community. But the joys of meeting gentlemen such as Dunbar and making the most of everyday as you both seem to do must make living where you do a real pleasure.

Oh yes... It’s so hard to lose a good friend. We do know that from personal experience.
