Last but Not Least

Here's the last iris to bloom in my yard.

It's that deep dark purple that I thought I didn't have.

It was worth the wait.

What a fabulous colour. You have done well with your irises this summer. You have obviously got green fingers.

...I only have Caesar's Brother Siberian Iris and they passed quickly.

That is a beautiful color purple and my favorite, Marcia. To answer your question in a post comment, no we did not climb any lighthouses on our recent trip. We only saw 3 and none were open at the time.

I answered over at mine, but since I am here, I'll paste it. I haven't yet picked up my wife's camera to confirm how and where to access or trun off wide angle.

Marcia. Sideways is just horizontal mode or what we call landscape. You may or may not have wide angle also enabled. If you do, that may be what is giving you those distortions. Especially when you are shooting w/a hold the camera very level. I don't have the w/a option on my older phone, but if you do, you can select or deselect it below, I think where you see various options like pano, hdr etc.

I checked Sue's phone. There is a little "0.5 or 1x" on the lower part of the screen but above the other menu. 0.5 would be for wide angle. It would be easy to hit and not know it. You would "usually" want to be in 1x unless there is a special reason to go wide, as in a landscape photo.
