Signs

First up this blossom on a plant I'm keeping for now for my daughter in Buffalo. Not sure what the name of the plant is but it's loving the spot I gave it at a north facing window.

Outside the front steps I spied these crocus shoots.

And these on the other side of the steps.

Yesterday a beautiful 60ยบ day and I was inside our town hall for 10 hours serving as a ballot clerk for town elections.  Over 525 people came out to vote each one saying what a beautiful warm day it was.  The parking lot showed the warm too as all the ice turned to water and mud.  I bet I handled about all the ballots as I worked the check out table and placed the ballots in the boxes.

Only two races had candidates vying for elections: town selectman and library trustee.  Both are important to the future of our new library and the winning candidates were those in favor of the new library.

Speaking of which a petition to rescind the town decision in 2023 to move the library to a closed store and renovate it at no cost to the town is to be considered at our town meeting on Saturday.  It was a very close vote in 2023 but since that time the nonprofit doing the fundraising has met the goal and has approval to move forward with renovation to start this fall.  With the candidates in favor of the library winning by large margins yesterday I am hopeful that the petition to rescind will be soundly defeated.  I'll let you know.

One last comment: it's very strange that the people against moving the library from a building with no handicapped access, no bathroom or running water and limited space for additional books or to meet, are not even library patrons! They have been told untruths which they believe - an unfortunate model that too many people embrace these days.
