I had one container of sliced turkey in the freezer from Thanksgiving. This past weekend I thawed it and used half for a delicious soup we had on Saturday night and for lunch this week. The other half I used in a turkey pot pie that I made on Sunday. For once instead of a deep dish pie with crust on top, I made a two crust pie. Dan labeled it the best! We finished it off on Monday evening.
The slice didn’t come out in one piece but it was so good.
Speaking of turkey look at these visitors.
They don’t visit every day and when they come they don’t stay long.
My bird feeders are put away because of bears. We haven’t seen evidence of them but must be cautious. Lots of spilled seed that the turkeys, juncos and cardinals can still find.
Finally, not on the subject of turkey, I spied these lovelies in the greenhouse of Gardeners Supply.
I may have to return for some to plant in pots.

Just about two months until we plant. Seems like a long time.
I think that's an official Turkey Convention! Linda in Kansas
The turkey pot pie looks amazing! We had wild turkeys on our property in Central Texas and they are fun to watch.
It must be a great pleasure to look out and see the turkeys. Little do they know you are eating their cousins.
...the pie looks delicious.
Oh dear, there's a turkey mob gobbling about your delicious pot pie and soup of their cousins! I would guess you make delicious crusts for that vote from your hubby for the double crusted pie. It sure does look yummy!
I love watching the toms showing off for the ladies.
I've not made a turkey pot pie but do make chicken pot pies. Yummy.
Yours looks delicious.
Your turkey pot pie looks incredible Marcia and wow on all those wild turkeys. I would have so much fun taking photos of them and certainly enjoyed yours. Pretty scene at the greenhouse. It will be fun for you to start the blooming season.
Thanks so much for your comment on my blog. I am repeating my my answer but thought I would share with you here. What a lovely coincidence. Thank you for sharing about when you lived in Virginia and the names of which I know very well. We have been to Burke Lake Park several times over the years, and now I'll know it's where you and your husband met, such a small world. We have lived here for over 30 years when we moved from California. Gregg was born in Norfolk and is a Virginia boy through and through. It certainly has changed! We have so much building going on including road works all the time. It never stops!
Have a great weekend!
That turkey pie looked really good and those wild turkeys better watch their step in your yard, Marcia.
