On Monday when I was working in the garden the other peony still hadn't bloomed or so I thought.
Even looking from the dining room table I couldn't see it. Tuesday was a rainy day so I didn't venture out for a closer look until today. But then this morning I caught a glimpse of color and went out with the iPhone to capture it up close.
The rain has weighed down the blooms. Only two have opened so far.
Checking on the first peony to bloom, I discovered this bloom below with a broken stem so I brought it in to enjoy.

Great garden arrangement! Peonies are just such lush flowers!
Peonies do tend to bend under their own weight.
...I think that the single peonies are my favorites.
Peonies are lovely blooms and this post reminded me of the plants that grew in my parent's yard so many years ago. I never remember my mother picking any of the blooms.
Hello Marcia, what gorgeous blooms! I also love your blog header. Thank you so much for sharing, and warm greetings from a 68 year old retired lady living in Montreal, Canada.
This is so beautiful. We had a peony bush in Illinois at our house. I don't think they grow in Hawaii.
Our peonies are fabulous this year, big, beautiful and prolific.
