Fruit Flies

Every year at some time I have to make a fruit fly trap.

A wide mouth jar, cider vinegar, and a cone of paper.

I made this one and within an hour I had fruit flies trapped.

A simple solution!

Simple is usually best.

We had an infestation like that a few years. After the neighbours left, the flies eventually disappeared after we used a similar trap.

Yes, every year. Canning season seems to just draw them in. I like your trap. Mine is similar, a small jar of cider vinegar covered with plastic wrap with holes punched in it. Works very well.

That is really neat. Thank goodness that's one thing we haven't been bothered with... yet.
