AWOL or MIA

 Just had a visit from my sister, Bonnie and her husband, Joseph.  They brought blue sky weather with them.  Of course today, Saturday it's now cloudy again.

Sorry to have missed visiting your blogs but life has been busy with company here.

Here is the view from French's Ledges in Plainfield, NH looking southwest toward Mt. Ascutney.

And look at the color here at this brook as it heads over a falls.

p.s. the saga of the no show painter continues! He came Thursday for less than 4 hours and no show Friday with no word until late afternoon and no apology for missing a beautiful day to paint. He "promised" to come at 10:30 today but at 1:30 no sign of him. I want to fire him now but Dan wants to wait until the 17th which is when he said he'd be done. 

Fond Memories

 Two years ago at this time we were in Barcelona, Spain spending two wonderful weeks exploring the surroundings and sampling the food.  Oh, to be able to travel again.  I keep planning trips in my head but can't get any farther than that.

I'd like to go to Ireland, Provence, Southern Spain, or return to London.  All I would do with UnTours again.  I'm crossing my fingers that it can happen in 2022.

Flower Picking

 Emily suggested we go to a local farm that offers flower picking - the kinds that dry well - so we can dry our own for wreath making in November.  This was a first visit to this farm for me.

Rows and rose of statice in varying colors, globe amaranth, straw flowers and others I didn't know names for.

I had my basket weighed empty since the flowers were sold by the pound.  This is just shy of 2 pounds.

I came home with a white pumpkin too.

Emily spied this sign.  It's the same company featured in the large sign in our barn rec room advertising cream separators.

When I got home I put rubber bands on the stalks and hung the flowers to dry in the garden room of the barn.
