It’s that time of year!

4 pints of blueberries picked on Monday morning.  There are really big this year.

My neighbor has a huge blueberry patch that she opens and charges $2/pint. A bargain.

A hot day today so I made this blueberry pie early.  I use the Joy of Cooking recipe and my mother's crust recipe.

Below ready for top pie dough.

Into the oven 450º for 10 minutes, then 350º for 30 minutes.

It's done!  I may have to have a piece with lunch today.  I know Dan will agree with that.

Oh what a good use of blueberries...the fresher the better. I've got some frozen, and some fresh waiting to wash and pick through. Yay to nature's bounty.

You are a cruel person I love blueberry pie. My friend was telling me about collecting blueberries in northern Quebec when he was a boy. Maybe I should try to blog it. It would be short as it is his story. Hmm.

Oh yum! It looks divine. I have never been able to achieve a pretty edge like that on my pies!

That looks delicious.
I'm glad you figured out the words in my post, isn't it funny how we English speakers are divided by our language :)

That is a great deal for the blueberries and even better was the resulting pie and why not for lunch?
