Tuesday's Treasures #1

This is a school photograph from my mother's childhood.
I keep it on a shelf in my study.

My mother is the girl with a checked dress in the center above.  She has a locket hanging from a chain.  I wonder what happened to that.

Mom was born in December 1918 so in March 1927 when this photo was taken she would have been 8 years old.

It was a one room school house there in Bausman Township outside of Lancaster, PA.  Mom ended up skipping a grade or two because there was only the one big class with one teacher.

This is a photo I will treasure and pass on.

What a wonderful treasure Marcia, I can see why you display it proudly. Your mom and mine were born at about the same time. Thanks for sharing this week and since you post is titled #1, I hope that there are many more treasures to come.

What a treasure you have, Marcia.... Great picture of your Mom and the school mates is truly priceless. My Mom was born in 1900 and died in 1991.

Hugs,
Betsy

How precious this is. I don't think a picture exists of either my mom or my dad as a child...

Such a wonderful treasure, Marcia! Your mom must have shared such interesting stories about learning in a one-room school house! ♡Dawn@Petals.Paper.SimpleThymes
