    1. No you can't and it was good. I added it at the end of cooking to a stir fry just enough heat to wilt the leaves. Yum!

    1. Wilderness - you asked about the vegetable garden: it's looking good. Even the carrots have germinated. No animals or birds came through to pull up the peas this year. I have 4 nice looking broccoli plants and the lettuces, bok choy and spinach are all coming into second leaf sets. Now I have to do something with the volunteer pumpkins if they survive the frost. If I keep them they'll have to grow outside the fenced area. I wonder if deer will eat the leaves and flowers? One spot would be to grow them in the bed over the septic tank. Emily didn't think they would do well in a pot since they are heavy feeders so I may have to put them in the ground there and take my chances with the deer and liquid fence.

  3. That spinach looks yummy. Mine is still in seedling stage so won't have it for couple more weeks.

    1. This harvest was of spinach seeded last fall. Not much developed but I'll take what's there. New seedlings are showing up that were seeded this spring. Won't be long to wait for those.

  4. Yum---that looks SO good.... There's just nothing better than home-grown veggies... We buy our spinach in big packages at Sam's... NOT nearly as good as yours I'm sure!!!!

  14. Hi Marcia, Me again... (Need your email address to answer questions)... We do have HUGE deer problems... They are 'safe' in our community --so there are lots of them!!! We use "Liquid Fence" (ordered online) --and it protects MOST of our flowers MOST of the time. Occasionally, they will eat something that we haven't sprayed --but about 90% of the time, we can save our flowers... It takes work and MONEY though.

    Hugs,
    Betsy
