My worst fears for this election.
Dan and I are in shock and we fear for the future of this country.
I am taking a hiatus from blogging until the New Year and then will assess whether to continue to be a blogger.
postscript - a quote from John Lewis I read in the Americans for Conscience newsletter
Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year—it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble. – John Lewis
I suggest that you read my friend's post, it may give you comfort.

Have a good time away, I'll miss hearing your wise/interesting/fun posts! Yes, I'm taking stock now, how will this effect my own life, and that of my loved ones?
ReplyDeleteHugs, hope your shock wears off soon. It was a shock, but for some, a good one. We were told all along how close it was, and it wasn't! I hope it won't be as bad as you think it will be, we live in a great country, and God is good. Each day is a gift, too, no matter who is at the helm, God is in charge:)
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone. I cannot comprehend how others thought He was the better choice.
ReplyDeleteYou stay informed, research the issues, make a knowable decision and your neighbor was wears one of those "felon" t shirts and says he wants to be able to eat steak again.
ReplyDeletemy entire family was shocked, saddened, angry, and just plain dumbfounded. Apparelty the mid west and southern states don't do their homework...they are voting party vs a person with integrity and character and sadly we are now thre laughingstock, once again of the European countries. and we as a nation WILL reap the consequences of this "leader" and it won't be good ones.
ReplyDeleteYou will be very much missed if you quit blogging. You are one oasis of peace in this madness. Hugs, dear Marcia.
ReplyDeleteIt is incomprehensible that he received so many votes. We will all suffer the consequences. Hope after your blogging break you will feel up to continuing. I'll miss your posts.
ReplyDeleteBy all means, take a break, but do not let them steal your voice.
ReplyDeleteTake a break, regroup, enjoy life but like Anvilcloud above said, don''t let them steal your voice. We'll all need each other to fight the good fight.
ReplyDeleteOh Marcia... I'm sending you a virtual hug. All my friends here and 98% of my relatives are in pain and disillusionment right now. We're sad that more than half the country can't seem to see what we see and are relying on FOX or social media for their news.
ReplyDeleteI’ve been in a shock state with disbelief about the votes for the person without sense of responsibility as well as conscience. I’ve been scared when conspiracies and misinformation spread like wildfire. I hope things won’t much worse for the benefit of all the people. I hope you’d post from time to time when you’re consoled.
ReplyDeleteYoko
I'm still coming to terms with the reality. But my blog is my voice and I think our voices are more important than ever.
ReplyDeleteHi Marcia! Haven't blogged in 2 years, but I'm back. (new blog too.) I'm distraught over the results too.
ReplyDeleteblogging was my "do something" . .. hadn't blogged in years, but after the hate rally in Aurora, i had to speak out ... i guess it didn't make a difference to anyone else, but i don't plan to give away my voice again
