Here's the before photo of the forsythia at our well.
Since the leaves were starting to show it was time to take everyone's advice and give a haircut.
After I got done with it above and below all the clippings.
I don't think it had ever had a pruning.
When Dan got home from an errand he finished the job for me.
I have labeled this post so next year when it tries to bloom again I can do a comparison.
Forsythia is a lovely burst of colour in early spring.
ReplyDelete...I'd cut it even lower.
ReplyDeleteForsooth, you pruned the forsythia.
ReplyDelete(I just wanted to say that. Thanks for the opportunity.)
It will be back, better than ever.
ReplyDeleteMy parents had forsythia bushes at the back of our yard and I don't believe they ever trimmed them as they wanted a barrier from the yard in back.
ReplyDeleteA job well done. It will be beautiful next season. Ours gets cut back most years.
ReplyDeleteIf it's not too late, put some of the cuttings in water so they can root and plant them wherever you choose to. Here, not far outside Richmond, VA, I stuck some trimmings in the soil and they rooted!
ReplyDeleteWishing you well!
That looks better...though the show next spring will definitely be the best part.
