This is our neighbor's tree along our driveway. So glad it fell towards her backyard. The other way would have been on our house.
We had quite high winds last night into early this morning. Lots of rain too.
I had planned to post this Saturday morning but as I sat to write the power went out. It just came back on 10 minutes ago - 7 pm Saturday.
Dan was called by fire department (he's a volunteer) at 5 am because of downed wires on the road south of here. He didn't get home until 9:30.
We are glad we put in the woodstove. It kept us warm and I used it to warm soup for supper.
So glad to hear tree went the right direction and that you all are safe, and snug with wood stove. Glad the power came back on in time for a late post today! Sleep well.
ReplyDeleteThank good you and your house are safe.
ReplyDeleteHow worrying to have those high winds. Sensible to have alternative power sources.
ReplyDelete...take care and stay warm and well.
ReplyDeleteOur power stayed, but I think a whole lot of electrical infrastructure was rebuilt after the 2022 derecho.
ReplyDeleteWe had the wind and the snow and the rain I am over it! Give me just snow I can handle that.
ReplyDeleteWe kept the power which was great.

Marcia, we had all day rain on Saturday but the winds were not that severe or at least we didn't notice anything being high up, power stayed on as well However, when we took a walk outdoors on Sunday, we felt like we could be blown away. Glad the tree did not cause any damage to you or your neighbor's homes. That woodstove has come in very handy indeed.
ReplyDeleteWoodstoves are so great! We have three, mostly as backups.
ReplyDeleteWow! This has been such an extreme winter for so many people.
