What it Looks Like Here

You can see from the new header photo that leaves have changed color and some have dropped already.  The leaves aren't the same shade as previous years because of the amount of rain we have had this summer and through September.

Flowers are still blooming especially these dahlias.

All the impatiens I had blooming when we left here on September 5th dropped all leaves and blooms and just stalks remain.  Strange sight.  It's almost like a frost hit but that wasn't the case.

This maple tree has almost dropped all its leaves!

No mums for me this year.  They last such a short time for the price I must pay. Pumpkins and my shutter face will have to do for decor.

  1. We got one planter of bright yellow mums that we put out front. It looks good as we turn the corner and look up the street.

  2. ...here in the Adirondacks, the colors are great, but things are dry.

  3. Your house looks great and so ready for the fall, even without mums. Manhattan is back to dry and sunny, but my heart goes out to friends with flooded basements. Have a great October!

  4. I wanted just the brightest yellow mums I could find for my porch...to cheer all of us up who depend on government funded things in our lives (healthcare, rent reductions, fuel subsidies, food subsidies, drug cost subsidies, need I go on...) I like your pumpkins and shutter guy too. And dahlias that are still blooming! Wow!

  5. so I was told because of the rain there was a fungus that happened and that is why the leaves are mostly falling off the trees.

  7. I have some dahlias just like that. After heavy rains the whole lot collapsed (because someone hadn't tied them up properly!) but now they are shooting up from the ruins and look like having a whole new batch of flowers.
