Can you tell I'm trying to lose some weight? Pandemic and election-angst eating is not good for me or you. Here's what I'm doing and it's working. Eliminating sugar and extra salt, limiting wine intake to one small glass a week, taking smaller portions and half portions of carbs, trying to exercise daily and keeping a journal of what I eat. I started this on Monday when I hit an all time high. Down three pounds already. I'll take all the encouragement and suggestions I can get!
...these are great.
ReplyDeleteI'm not eating a lot or gaining weight, but I'm certainly eating many of the wrong things. Too much ice cream. It sounds like you are doing well!
ReplyDeleteIn answer to the first one, giraffes seem to stay pretty slim on a similar regime. Apart from that I have no sensible advice to impart, so I'll just wish you well with your new lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteI admire your determination and will power. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI love the Algebra joke. Too funny! Good luck with the change in diet. I'm sort of OK weightwise, but my glucose is BAD. I have to stay away from sugar and carbs. It's so hard.
ReplyDeleteI feel like you are carrying on with Saturday Stickers while I am posting other things.
ReplyDeleteI love the funniest but it's SO hard to keep our weight under control. Looks like you have some good ideas. Staying active is so important. Also healthy snacks helps. I like popcorn when I'm craving something salty and crunchy. I don't eat sugar at all...I'm allergic to it but it's still hard to stay balanced. I'm wishing you the best! If you find any low calorie snacks, please share! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSounds good that you're keeping track of your intake...that gives you a sense of attention to what you're eating. I've been on a low-fat plant-based diet for the last 2 months, for having a healthy heart. It also has given me loss of weight as well as lower cholesterol numbers. But the first 6 weeks I was tracking everything I ate. I wish you well. Oh, and I'm exercising three times a week for a total of 120 minutes!
ReplyDeleteCute FUNNIES!!!!! Congrats on working on your weight... I do that every day of my life ---and make myself get on the scales every morning... Maintaining a weight loss is MUCH harder than losing the weight (for me).. BUT--Since I constantly am working on my health ---I have been staying 'steady' for over 5-6 years now....
ReplyDeleteI use an online program named "My Fitness Pal" --- and write down every bite I take .... It helps me keep up with calories, fat, carbs, fiber, protein, sugar ---and that tells me what to cut back on.. You can set goals... Great program once you get it all set up.. I need protein --but most of the time, I don't get enough (since I don't eat as much meat as I used to)... The thing which helps me the most is eating few carbs (except for the important ones with fiber, plus all of the fruits and veggies we eat)... I also watch my sugar VERY carefully. I drink 64 oz of water a day... Portion control and eating slowly is important. My Apple watch gives me reminders reminding me to STAND once an hour, and to keep it going. Exercise is not as easy for me these days --but I try to walk and use the stationary bike...
BUT --I'll admit that sometimes I am resentful --since I've done this for SO long... BUT--at age 78 (with A Fib and Diabetes Type II) ---I HAVE to do it!!!!! Oh Well---life is GREAT... Right? Congrats and Good Luck...
Hugs,
Betsy
