I try to take photos with the iPhone but the quality is not great.
I walked Wilde Lake this morning and happened upon a woman with a telephoto lens. I asked what she was seeing and the response was an oriole's nest. Now if you know Baltimore orioles (not the baseball team) you know they build a hanging basket nest.
She showed me where it was high in the trees. I could just see it but when I took photos, nothing is there.
Here's the zoom in. Still nothing to see.
Farther down the path I spied a bluebird. My photos looks like modern art - fuzzy.
A robin joined the bluebird.
Now I took this last one for Margaret. She shared a robin photo on her blog not too long ago. UK robins look different that American robins.
So what am I doing wrong with the iPhone photos?
...I wish that bluebirds were a more common sight for me.
ReplyDeleteI think they lie like a rug about the mp of the iPhone. LOL
ReplyDeleteWe've just begun getting bluebirds here recently in Eastern Washington. We think it's climate change. The local Audubon set up many houses for them and it's been successful. We also now have two varieties of pelican, both brown and white. The brown ones are new to the region as well. My cell photos, I have an android, are hit and miss too.
ReplyDeleteEven with a decent camera I would be too slow to catch any decent bird photos. At least buildings stay still for me.
ReplyDeleteI don’t think you are doing anything “wrong”. It’s the camera in the phone. You need a great big lens and a fast speed camera to capture birds.
ReplyDeleteThe shot of the robin and bluebird is wonderful, to see them together is great!
ReplyDeleteI am a point and click photographer so don't have any advice. I photo mainly things that don't move fast, flowers are a favorite for me, a resting dog and cat, and people who stand still while I take a photo.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the US Robin. Yes it is a big boy in comparison to the UK one but both lovely birds. I do not think you are doing anything wrong, it probably is the camera is not good enough for bird photography
ReplyDeleteYou weren't kidding when you said you liked irises.
ReplyDeleteDid you zoom in? I was told that wasn't a good idea. I really do love the photos I get from my iPhone XR. There are all kinds of videos on how to take great shots. One showed how you should hold your phone closer to your body so it doesn't shake and two use both hands to hold it.
