From the Train Window

It's not always easy to take photos from the train but I try nevertheless.

I took the Vermonter from BWI Amtrak Station to White River Junction, VT last Sunday and was met by my son in law and granddaughter at the station.  The latter was so excited to tell me she had heard the train coming and saw me get off.  At 2 1/2 trains are fascinating for her.

Here are some of my photos on board.

New York City - I think that's the Chrysler Building.

This is in Connecticut and may be Stamford.

These tent structures must serve some purpose.

Loved the sunlight on the side of this building.

Some of the fall colors were still evident in the trees.

It was good to see one state, Connecticut, renovating their stations.

Not sure if this is Connecticut or Massachusetts.

All the patterns caught my eye here.

Another fall scene along the Connecticut River that we ride along as we head north.

  1. Hi Marcia, I'm definitely not 2 1/2 --but at age 74, trains are STILL exciting to me... One of my 'dreams' is to ride across Canada on a train sometime... I'd much rather do that than taking a tour bus..... My Dad worked for the railroad --so I've had a love of trains in me for many years.

Great pictures... Glad things are working out for you and hubby in your new home. Hope you are 'settled' for awhile.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  3. I would love to be able to take a train on trips. You saw some pretty sights on the way, including those fall colors, that you wouldn't have seen from a plane.
