The Fells, NH

Another in a posting about a visit we made to New Hampshire to view foliage and visit with family.

A rainy Sunday afternoon we drove down to The Fells,  the summer home of John M. Hay who was one of Lincoln's secretaries and later was a Secretary of State for McKinley and then Teddy Roosevelt.

The home was lovely with gardens that one day I hope to visit in another season.  Here are a few photos for you viewing pleasure.

Walk down the driveway to the house.

No photos inside the house were allowed and this is the only one I took on the outside.

A monster of a blueberry bush.

The walk back up the driveway.

  2. HI Marcia You got great photographs of your walk around this lovely garden despite the wet condition. Love the rockery and pool, the autumn colours and leaves that have fallen. Interesting who lived there and to know how many presidents she served.
