This red bellied sapsucker was quite stunned by his hit.
After many minutes I coaxed him to climb the beam. It was a good two hours before he finally flew off.
Sunday we found this Kentucky warbler. I had to look him up in Peterson to identify him and then added him to my list.
He also was gently coaxed to flight. Since it was dusk we were afraid the fox would get him if he stayed on the ground.
It must be that time of year! I had one run into my window last week too. Glad yours were OK!!!
ReplyDeleteBig glass windows and birds are not s good mix - I used to see people put a sticker with an outline of a hawk to stop birds from hitting the glass - I have no idea if they work!!

They are both beautiful birds! It's weird that they crash into the windows but I'm glad they both survived to visit another day.
ReplyDeleteWe have that happen here every once in awhile.. Poor little birds. They are stunned for awhile... Glad you can coax them into higher places.... Great pictures though. I have never seen that Warbler before. Gorgeous little bird.

Goodness! I'm glad they both were ok.
ReplyDeleteI wish birds' brains would evolve to recognizing glass. Glad both these beauties were ultimately OK>
ReplyDeleteI've purchased more reflector decals to put on the windows. It's supposed to prevent these accidents. Must get those up soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks all for stopping by.
Beautiful birds. I'm glad they made it.
ReplyDeleteGlad they were ok after hitting the window.
