Before & After

Blogger is giving me gobbledegook when I try to go to many of the blogs I have listed on my sidebar.

***
Tuesday was a real blue sky day.

But our first frost was in the forecast for Tuesday night.

Here's Wednesday morning.  Temp was 31ยบ.

In preparation for winter Dan has removed our chairs and side tables.

More leaves have fallen from the maple trees.

I didn't take a before photo of the Hosta.  Here's after frost.

Before

But little change after.  It will come.

No before for the canna.  I am going to see if I can save the rhizomes like I do the dahlia tubers.

Before for these potted annuals.

But after shows little change other than their position.  Dan moved them so we could move the grill to the barn.

Another photo from Tuesday.

And in the raised bed the volunteer squash plant took the frost hard.

It even had formed a fruit.  What it was I don't know.

The lettuce did just fine.

Did you have your first frost yet?

  1. Oh dear! No frost here yet, but there is a dog on my lap. He's licking the toast crumbs.

  3. No frost or leaves turning yet here but we did lose the last of our vegetable garden, the peppers, today.

  4. We don't normally expect frost till after the 15th. None yet, but I need to begin moving in porch plants.

  5. Not here yet...it's pretty dry still with 35% humidity and warm afternoons in the 70s, just down into 40s at night. Due to change with rain expected for 4 days starting Saturday, they say! And I don't know if it's from a hurricane or not...there are 3 possible south of the US today.

  6. My daughter did tell me that I was missing all the gorgeous fall colors in Illinois. I'm afraid the rabbits ate all the hostas in my daughter's garden before the frost could kill them. Sigh...

  7. No frost here yet, not for another few weeks. It does make a difference to the plants, doesn't it?

  8. It has been forecast. Just one frost can wipe out so many of my summer flowering plants.

  9. Thanks for the look around your garden. Very pretty even with the plants that have had to deal with the frost.

  10. Aw, poor flowers! So sad to see them go.
I absolutely love your barn. All the photos are great, Marcia.
