No Kings Activists,
This Saturday, millions of Americans will come together across the country to remind the world that, in America, WE DON’T DO KINGS.
With tanks rolling down the street in DC and troops being deployed to Los Angeles, it’s never been more important for the people of our country to come together in community and nonviolent action to exercise our First Amendment right to peaceful protest. This nationwide, nonviolent display of people power will remind the world that authoritarianism has no home here.
Try as he might, President Trump can’t make our nonviolent protests into riots. He can’t turn our joyful dissent into despair. He can’t make us accept a king.
So on Saturday, we will be taking to the streets. From Philadelphia to Miami. From St. Paul to Flagstaff. From Anchorage to Honolulu. And yes, in Los Angeles. Because no amount of fearmongering can break our spirits, and we believe in the sanctity of our First Amendment right to assemble.
We will gather in towns all across this country (and the world) and remind President Trump that we the people, united in nonviolent protest, cannot be cowed.
To get us prepared:
I think that the best show of defiance would be for everyone to boycott this obscene parade in Washington. It will only feed into his rhetoric if thousands, or hundreds of thousands, line the parade route.
