Welcome reader to my blog - a mixture of this and that. Now that we are living in a retirement community in downtown Columbia, MD my personal gardening activities are somewhat curtailed. I still enjoy visiting gardens, reading, watching wildlife on my walks, traveling, and occasional food commentary. Please leave a comment if you feel inspired to do so. I read every one of them.

Blow Me Down Cottage

This last trip to New Hampshire we opted to rent a cottage a short distance from our daughter and son in law.  This was also in the same township of Cornish but on the west side nearer to the Connecticut River.  It was right next door to a covered bridge.  I found this place on AirBnB.  Originally we thought our younger daughter and son in law would be with us so we ended up with much more space than we needed for the two of us.  It was a three bedroom, 1.5 bathroom home.

Notice the puddles?  It's mud season in NH.

Below the covered bridge is to the right of the garage.

Behind the house is the rushing Blow Me Down stream.

The covered bridges are numbered.

There was once a mill here.

Inside the cottage the walls are covered in art work.  This is the great room.

This is the kitchen.

A great screen porch that I hope we can enjoy someday when we return in warmer weather.

Fields to the east.

The house again on a sunny day.
