Welcome reader to my blog - a mixture of this and that. Now that we are living in a retirement community in downtown Columbia, MD my personal gardening activities are somewhat curtailed. I still enjoy visiting gardens, reading, watching wildlife on my walks, traveling, and occasional food commentary. Please leave a comment if you feel inspired to do so. I read every one of them.

Tuesday Treasures #8

More family photos but this time marked as treasures because they are coming off the wall.  According to "house staging for sale philosophy", you remove all personal effects that may prevent the prospective buyer from seeing themselves in the house.

As we prepare for the sale of our house (see yesterday's post to get the backstory) I am packing up all the framed photographs that chronicle our lives.
The bedroom hall has been a perfect spot to display this passage of time.  I wonder where I will do this once we settle in to our new digs?

The daughters are now 35 and 30.  Where has the time gone?

This is hard. I also found it hard to take down all our framed family photos when we moved from Illinois to Hawaii. Now that we're in Hawaii, we've put up a huge magnetic whiteboard and put photos up that we can add or subtract.

Marcia, only take what will fit into your new place (from one who has done this!) Believe me, when it is gone, you never really miss the things.

Oh yes, I remember well the sorting and packing, Marcia, that comes with a move. I feel for you. Hang in there.

Family photos are the dearest treasures we have, thanks for sharing these Marcia. I hope that this move in your life goes smoothly. I hope that you can come back next week.

We downsized a few years ago and agree that you will not miss a lot of the stuff.
I have scanned all our family photos but kept them as well.
I scanned travel photos but got rid of most of the hard copies as no one else is going to bother looking through them.

I have two daughters...a bit older than yours and I swear it just doesn't seem possible!
