Welcome reader to my blog - a mixture of this and that. Now that we are living in a retirement community in downtown Columbia, MD my personal gardening activities are somewhat curtailed. I still enjoy visiting gardens, reading, watching wildlife on my walks, traveling, and occasional food commentary. Please leave a comment if you feel inspired to do so. I read every one of them.

What's This? (9)

Our windows have very red trim so when I spotted something green on one of them I had to investigate.

It's a very rare insect that chose to visit my house.

A walking stick.

I wondered how it got there but I guess it has wings.

On any part of a plant it would have been camouflaged but on my window - not.

It didn't stay very long or else something got it.

I only remember seeing one once before many years ago and not around here.

They are so well camouflaged that I'm surprised it landed on your window frame. They are fascinating to watch.
