Welcome reader to my blog - a mixture of this and that. Now that we are living in a retirement community in downtown Columbia, MD my personal gardening activities are somewhat curtailed. I still enjoy visiting gardens, reading, watching wildlife on my walks, traveling, and occasional food commentary. Please leave a comment if you feel inspired to do so. I read every one of them.

Last of the NH Photos

This is it - the rest of the photos from our weekend visit north to New Hampshire that first weekend in October.  Here we are coming up on the last weekend of the month!

Our daughter and son-in-law's lovely home.  They spent two summers painting it.  It looks lovely.  See the wreath to the right of the door?  Close up of it appears below.

Isn't this succulent wreath really neat?

Their chickens.

A small farmer's market on the green.

View from inside the meeting house.

The meeting house.  Dan and Matt went up to wind the clock.  I got to do that last year.

Neighbor across the street

Departing for home photo.  Til next time.

Looks like an idyllic place, personally, brings back many happy memories of trips to Vermont and New Hampshire. Love the color of the house.

HI Marcia thank you for sharing this trip with us with great photos. That home looked lovely and the weath at the front door is fantastic. Never seen one like that before.

They did pick a beautiful shade of green and spent many hours scraping and replacing clapboards before painting.

For the winter she will bring the wreath inside and lay flat in a tray to keep it moist. It should eventually fill in the entire wreath.

What a beautiful area. Love the house. It looks so idyllic, with the picket fence in front, and her pretty garden. I also love the green color. The neighbor's house across the street is adorable, too! How fun to live where you can show a little character, instead of every home looking exactly alike. Her succulent wreath is fabulous. Something like that would make a great gift, too!
