Welcome reader to my blog - a mixture of this and that. Now that we are living in a retirement community in downtown Columbia, MD my personal gardening activities are somewhat curtailed. I still enjoy visiting gardens, reading, watching wildlife on my walks, traveling, and occasional food commentary. Please leave a comment if you feel inspired to do so. I read every one of them.

In Celebration of a Life - My Mom

My Mom
1918- 2013
A loving wife to my father and giving mother and grandmother to all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

With some not all of her offspring.

An accomplished tole painter and landscape artist.

Never one to sit when there was food to be prepared.

2 weeks before her death

Mom, thank you!  You will be sorely missed!

Oh, I am so sorry. Wow, what an amazing gift your Mother was. I can see her love and spirit shining through in every photo (and every project). She seemed truly happy with her wonderfully long life.

Thoughts with you, and remember, our family is always with us.

Thank you for sharing beautiful photos of your mom. She looks so happy on all of them and that's what's important to remember - she lived a long and happy life and may all of you be just as happy as she was.

"Never one to sit when there was food to be prepared." As grandpa said, "Otherwise, she would not be grandma"

Nice set of family pictures.

The wood face stick is in the care of my son - who has a bit of an informal collection of such things!!

Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
