Goldfinches

It's that time of year.  The flowers are going to seed and the goldfinches are gorging themselves.  I did read somewhere that as seed eaters they hatch their eggs late in the summer so there are seeds to feed them.   I caught this pair on the purple cone flowers outside my bedroom window one afternoon.

And the spider webs have been profuse of late.  This was an unusual web and spider outside Dan's shop door.

Goldfinches? That's so cool! And those pictures are beautiful. Makes me realize I need to get a new camera, whatever you have is taking amazing pictures!

Wonderful series of Goldfinch images! We should be seeing them in a few weeks as they migrate through Florida to their wintering grounds.

Lovely photos! And I love how the garden spider picks up the color of the goldfinches - nice tie-in :-)

Love the goldfinch photos, I have seen them voraciously eating at the sunflowers, but no closeup pictures like these !
