Harvest Monday - Cucumbers!

My cucumber plants revived themselves and surprised me with a cucumber harvest this week.  We've been enjoying them sliced and dipped in hummus, on sandwiches instead of lettuce and in a salad with green tomatoes which have ripened, olives and feta cheese.  Above is a singe tomato that had almost ripened on the one remaining tomato plant.

See more harvests from other gardeners at Daphne's Dandelions.

It's absolutely amazing that you're able to get cucumbers in October!

Yes it is amazing because I really thought the plants had had it for the season. Then I saw flowers os I let them be and now cucumbers. We have cool temps now so I do think that was the last of them. I dod have carrots forming nicely and green leaf crops (lettuce, bok choy and mesclun).

We love cucumbers and this is the year we discovered Persian cucumbers! I like using the slices of cucumbers instead of crackers or bread to hold toppings for little appetizers.
