First Snow In Maryland of 2009

The weather forecast was for snow showers starting in the afternoon. The rain changed to snow at 9 o'clock this morning and has not stopped. It is now 1 o'clock and the roads which were supposed to be too warm to hold the snow are covered. The pond has a skim of ice on it and will soon be covered with snow too.

Here is the perennial garden covered in snow.

We got our first real snow today too. It started this afternoon and only began to stick around 2 or so. We'll see how much there is to clean off the cars in the morning since its dark now.

It seems everyone is getting winter all at once this year. Yesterday I saw a couple flakes falling but so far no snow on the ground this season. It is however very cold now, 18f last night. It won't be long until we are all white as well. Great photos!
