July Bloom Day

Here's some of what's blooming on this July Bloom Day. There are more blooms in this garden then last year because the garden is just in it's childhood. This is it's 4th summer.

In the front yard, the butterfly bushes are in full glory. The hydrangeas survived the deer with no attacks this year and are in bloom. The lavender and Russian sage are a lovely shade of purple. In yellow I have a volunteer sunflower and black-eyed susans and stella d'oro day lilies (not shown).

Among the herbs and vegetables, the oregano, dill, onion, purple basil and zucchini are in bloom.

In the perennial beds in the backyard:

Bee balm and yarrow

Two varieties of day lilies.

Shasta daisies and clemetis

Knockout rose and hostas

A wort next to the pond and a fuschia in a hanging basket.

A promise of bloom to come, hopefully before the sun sets on Bloom Day.
Stargazer lily.

Hiya Marcia,
That is some sunflower you are showing there.
I am watching the Tour de France and they were just riding along a huge field full of them. Lovely.
You have some that I share, like the Prussian sage, and others I can't grow, like that scarlet bee balm.

Happy Bloomday.

Such nice blooms. My favorites would have to be the clematis, purple daylily and the blue hydrangea. My hydrangea is pink in our sweet soil, I wish it was blue.

That hydrangea is great! I need to get some of those... Happy GBBD!

It's always a treat to see a beautiful, blue-flowered Mophead Hydrangea. I'm glad the deer spared it. Nothing says summer like Sunflowers & Daylilies.

Your Russian Sage is pretty. I've been thinking for a while that I might need one of those plants.

Gorgeous! I wish I could grow hydrangeas like that, I'm so glad the deer left them alone for you. Happy Bloom Day!

Hi! What's the cultivar of orange/yellow daylily? It's very pretty and intriguing.

Marcia, your garden is a nice mix of flowers and veggies. Everything looks great! I like the butterfly bush in the front. How tall are they? Don't you love Russian sage? It's one of my favorites. Adds such a pretty and airy focal point to the flower beds. Thanks for sharing your beautiful garden! ~~Rhonda

You have a lot of lovely blues in the garden. Buddleia is one of my favorites too. Yours is looking beautiful. Love the sparkle on the Clematis petals.
